In response to continued growth in Madison County, the new Station #2 opened in December 2016. The 24/7 facility went from providing only three emergency response vehicles to six ambulances and/or disaster trailers.  The building also includes eight bedrooms, offices, training and meeting areas, a kitchen with cafeteria space, storage, and a patio.

The HVAC system is an air-source Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat recovery system with an energy recovery outside air unit and a kitchen exhaust system. Radiant heat and general exhaust systems are provided in the apparatus bays to enhance occupant comfort and limit CO2 levels.

The lighting systems are all energy-efficient LED with automatic lighting controls. Electrical distribution includes an emergency generator to provide full power to the building. CCTV cameras and card access control are provided for building security.
