The new GRC athletic facility consisted of two projects: a new gymnasium, a football-soccer-track complex, a tennis court, softball fields, football practice fields, and a field house to serve student athletes. Collectively, the projects spanned 103,939 square feet and cost $25,914,183.
Mechanical and electrical features included new professional sound and video systems in the high school’s gym, LED lighting, new security features, geothermal water-source heat pumps, and high-volume, low-speed (HVLS) fans. The football stadium features LED sports lighting, decorative LED site lighting, and an event-sized energy recovery system. The concourse areas, locker rooms, restrooms, and concessions also include LED lighting and controls within the fieldhouse building.
