The Kentucky Horse Park Commission and U.S. Equestrian entered into a 40-year ground lease agreement on three acres of land, which includes the grant of an option to extend the lease for an additional 40 years at the conclusion of the initial term. The new, two-story headquarters will replace the office space U.S. Equestrian leased at the Kentucky Horse Park from the USA Equestrian Trust, Inc., which expired at the end of 2019.
The new building, designed by integrity ARCHITECTURE and constructed by D.W. Wilburn, will house approximately 140 employees. It is expected to generate cost savings for U.S. Equestrian, which will be used to enhance and develop its programs and initiatives for over 100,000 members.
In addition, the new headquarters will remain near many U.S. Equestrian affiliates and licensed competitions.
