The West is an office building located in East End Louisville. This new, 72,000-square-foot multi-purpose office building offers flexible floor plans, meeting spaces, and an upscale lounge. It is located in the Terra Crossing Development at Old Henry alongside Galen College New Campus, Mercedes-Benz, ARGI Financial Group, and Thornton’s Headquarters.
Building HVAC systems were sized to accommodate increased ventilation amounts for improved indoor air quality. The variable air volume (VAV) system can be adapted to tenant floor plans and allows for full use of the floor space. A central utility core for vertical ducts, pipes, etc., allows for full use of the floor-to-ceiling windows around the exterior of the building.
The electrical power systems consist of a new 277/480V 3-phase electrical service with 120/208V distribution panels. The design focused on the building’s core and shell, and provided flexibility for future tenant build-outs. Provisions have been made to accommodate a generator for future use if required by a tenant. The lighting control system leverages the building’s natural daylight to minimize energy consumption for lighting.
