The JCTC AMIT project was a 55,000 SF advanced manufacturing training facility located in the heart of downtown Louisville.

The HVAC system for the project was a chilled-water VAV air-handling unit with hot-water reheat and variable-speed pumping. Stratification was remediated in two-story spaces with HVLV fans. A solar domestic hot water heating system was designed to reduce electrical consumption when free heat is available. Process equipment included a centralized dust collector and infrastructure for compressed air, argon, and mixed gases. A robust data backbone, energy-efficient lighting and controls, strategically located busbars, and electrical cable drops were also provided.

The new building was scheduled to teach Machines, Robotics, Motor Controls, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Industrial Electronics, and PLC controls. All systems and spaces were designed to provide flexibility in the event that instructional requirements change.
