STW engineered the complete replacement of the HVAC equipment within the OR and OB spaces of the facility. Both spaces were also decoupled from each other, resulting in independent control of the OR space from the OB space. The facility was also fitted with new variable-air-volume (VAV) boxes in these areas, allowing for each space to achieve accurate airflow per ASHRAE Standard 170-2017. All operating rooms were modernized with new finishes, lighting, and laminar flow diffuser systems. The new HVAC equipment was connected to the existing building control system, providing maintenance personnel with real-time feedback on critical HVAC equipment.
