The new LFUCG Police Roll Call Center was a $4.2 million building with over 7,889 square feet of space. The new facility included expanded operational space from its former location and a new bike room for storing and working on bicycles. The building is geothermal and solar-ready with space to accommodate solar panels in the future.
The mechanical system design consisted of a water-source geothermal system with outside air and exhaust provided by a package energy recovery unit. The indoor units are two-stage vertical water-source heat pumps located in the basement mechanical room and zoned for three areas. The building is occupied 24/7 and is equipped with a central building controller to monitor and adjust the setpoints of HVAC units throughout the building. The plumbing piping systems included sanitary waste and vent, domestic cold and hot water, hot water recirculation, and natural gas. The building is 100% protected with a fire suppression system.
Electrical systems included electrical distribution systems for normal and emergency power, LED lighting and controls, fire alarm detection and notification systems, a security/access control system, and data/communication systems.
